What your result means
The large date is the answer to “what date is N days (or weeks, months, years) after or before the start date”. The line below it gives the day of the week, which matters for deadlines that fall on a weekend, and the ISO form (YYYY-MM-DD) for forms and software.
The quick table shows the same start date moved by common periods, so a single look answers “when does the 30-day return window, the 45-day invoice term and the 90-day notice end?”.
How to use this days-from-today calculator
- Leave the start date as today, or change it to any date (an invoice date, a joining date, a prescription date).
- Type how many units to move and choose the unit: days, weeks, months or years.
- Choose After to add or Before to subtract.
- Read the date and weekday. Copy or Share the result if you need to send it.
How the calculation works, with a worked example
Days and weeks are added as exact multiples of 24 hours on the calendar, so leap days are included automatically. Months and years move the month or year number and keep the same day where possible; if that day does not exist in the target month, the result is the last day of that month.
Worked example (computed by this tool’s own function): 100 days after 1 November 2026.
- November has 30 days: 29 days remain after the 1st → 29
- December: 31 → 60
- January: 31 → 91
- 9 more days into February → 9 February 2027 (Tuesday)
90 days before the same date is 3 August 2026 (Monday).

Special cases and common mistakes
- Counting the start day. “30 days from today” means today + 30 calendar days. If a rule says “within 30 days including today”, enter 29.
- Months are not 30 days. One month after 31 January 2027 is 28 February 2027, not 3 March. Three months after 30 November is 28 February (or 29 in a leap year).
- Leap-day anniversaries. One year after 29 February 2024 is 28 February 2025; the next 29 February is 2028.
- Deadlines on weekends. The tool shows the weekday so you can see when a due date lands on a Saturday or Sunday. Whether it moves to the next working day depends on the rule, not the calendar.
- Working days vs calendar days. Notice periods, cheque validity (3 months), warranty and return windows are usually calendar days. Court and some government timelines may use working days; check the rule.
- Time zones. Only the calendar date is used, so the result is the same wherever you are.
Frequently asked questions
What date is 100 days from today?
Enter 100 in the 'How many' box with the unit set to days and the start date left as today. The result shows the exact date and the day of the week. From 1 November 2026, 100 days later is 9 February 2027, a Tuesday.
How do I find a date 90 days before today?
Switch the direction to 'Before (subtract)' and enter 90. This is handy for checking look-back periods such as bank statements or visa rules.
Does adding a month to 31 January give 28 February or 3 March?
28 February (29 in a leap year). When the target month is shorter, the calculator lands on its last day, which is the convention banks, courts and most calendars use.
Are weekends and holidays skipped?
No. The count is in calendar days, which is what most deadlines, validity periods and medical schedules use. If your rule counts only working days, multiply weeks by 5 instead or count on a calendar.
Can I start from a date other than today?
Yes. Change the start date to any date, past or future. For example, enter an invoice date and 45 days to find the payment due date.
Why does the tool show a list of other day counts?
The quick table lists common periods (7, 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, 100, 180 and 365 days) from the same start date so you can see several deadlines at once, such as warranty, return and notice periods.
